Ruzanna Nahapetjan is een lyrische sopraan met jarenlange uitgebreide podiumervaring. Zij voltooide haar conservatoriumopleiding klassieke zang aan het Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. Naast haar regelmatige uitvoeringen en televisieoptredens als soliste in oratoria en lied recitals, heeft ze inmiddels ook als gediplomeerd zangdocent een grote lespraktijk opgebouwd. Haar repertoire loopt van oratorium tot opera en van klassieke liederen tot folksongs.
De van oorsprong Armeense sopraan Ruzanna Nahapetjan begon haar muziekopleiding in haar geboorteland aan het Music Pedagogical College Yerevan en studeerde koordirectie aan zowel het Jerevan State Conservatory als de Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn. Zij vervolgde haar opleiding in de Verenigde Staten en studeerde verder aan het Sweelinck Conservatorium bij Lucia Meeuwsen en Margreet Honig. Masterclasses volgde zij bij onder meer Jard van Nes, Maarten Koningsberger, Noelle Barker en Johannette Zomer. Interpretatielessen kreeg zij van Claron McFadden, Max van Egmond en Philip Curtis en operacoaching onder leiding van Jan Slothouwer. Momenteel wordt Ruzanna gecoacht door Roberta Alexander.
Ruzanna heeft samengewerkt met dirigenten als Andres Mustonen, Rob Vermeulen, Charles de Wolff, Roy Goodman, Daniel Reuss, Jan-Willem de Vriend en Thijs Kramer.
Als soliste is Ruzanna te horen geweest met orkesten als het Concertgebouw Kamerorkest, het Promenade Orkest, het Philharmonia Amsterdam, Continuo Rotterdam en het Brabants Muzyk Collegie. Bij Bachkoor Holland heeft zij solistische medewerking verleend, onder meer bij cantate 187 Es wartet alles auf dich van J.S. Bach en het Utrechter Te Deum van Händel tijdens het internationale Orgelfestival 2006 in Haarlem.
In 2006 werd zij uitgenodigd als soliste bij het Liszt Ferenc Chorus onder leiding van Peter Scholcz voor de wereldpremière van toen recent ontdekte muziek van Michael Haydn. Dat jaar trad zij ook op tijdens het gerenommeerde Lentefestival in Boedapest met werken van onder anderen Franz Liszt.
Daarnaast is zij regelmatig solistisch te zien en te beluisteren tijdens TV-optredens voor de Evangelische Omroep.
Ruzanna heeft zich gewijd aan haar passie voor het oratoriumrepertoire. Zij is inmiddels een alom gewaardeerde oratoriumsoliste. Recentelijk is zij in Nederland te horen geweest in een aantal grote meesterwerken als Matthäus Passion , Johannes Passion , Weihnachts Oratorium (Bach), Messiah , Samson , Judas Maccabaeus , Gloria in Bes (Händel), Stabat Mater (Haydn), Requiem , Krönungsmesse , Grosse Messe (Mozart), Stabat Mater (Dvořák), Oratorio de Noël (Saint-Saëns), Die letzten Dinge (Spohr).
In het kader van het European Orchestra Festival heeft zij in 2009 gezongen in de Vierde Symfonie van Mahler. Datzelfde seizoen heeft zij een tournee gemaakt langs verschillende podia in Estland. Zij geeft regelmatig uitvoeringen in samenwerking met mannenkoren. Ruzanna geeft liedrecitals met pianisten als Roderigo Robles de Medina, David Bollen, David Schlafke en Nadezda Filippova.
Samen met de Armeense mezzosopraan Lilit Sati vormt zij het duo GIOCONDA. Daarmee brengt zij klassiek repertoire, Oost-Europese muziek, Armeense liederen en gewijde muziek uit haar geboorteland Armenië. Zij maakt ook deel uit van het barokensemble CON CALORE. In hun gevarieerde programma’s ligt het accent op muziek uit de Duitse, Franse en Italiaanse barok.
In 2019 verscheen haar cd None but you met naast Armeense liederen van Komitas juweeltjes uit vele landen van onder anderen Guastavino, Granados, Mompou, Bridge en Quilter met zaken als verlangen, liefde en verbondenheid als thema. Met de goed ontvangen cd vestigde Ruzanna Nahapetjan zich definitief als een liedvertolker van de hoogste orde.

BIOGRAPHY
Ruzanna Nahpetjan is a lyric soprano with years of extensive on-stage experience. She completed her conservatoire training in classical singing at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam. She regularly performs and appears in tv performances as a soloist in oratorios and song recitals. She is also a successful certified singing instructor. Her repertoire ranges from oratorio to opera from classical to folksongs.
Originally Armenian , soprano Ruzanna Nahapetjan began her musical education at the Music Pedagogical College in her birth country's capital Yerevan , then studied choral conducting at the Yerevan State Conservatory and at the Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn. She continued her education in the United States and concluded it at the Sweelinck Conservatory with Lucia Meeuwsen and Margreet Honing. She took masterclasses with Jard van Nes , Maarten Koningsberger , Noelle Barker and Johannette Zomer , among others. She was taught in musical interpretation by Claron McFadden , Max van Egmond and Philip Curtis , and was coached in opera by Jan Slothouwer. At the moment , Ruzanna is coached by Roberta Alexander.
Ruzanna has cooperated with conductors such as Andres Mustonen , Rob Vermeulen , Charles de Wolff , Roy Goodman , Daniel Reuss , Jan-Willem de Vriend and Thijs kramer.
As a solist, Ruzanna has performed with orchestras such as the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Amsterdam, Continuo Rotterdam and the Muzyk Collegie. She also sang solo with Bach Choir Holland, in cantate 187 Es wartet alles auf dich by J.S. Bach and Händels's Utrechter te Deum during the 2006 international Organ Festival in Haarlem.
In 2006, she was invited to performs as a soloist with the Liszt Ferenc Chorus, led by Peter Scholcz, for the world première of the music of Michael Haydn, then recently discovered. That year, she also performed at the renowned Budapest Spring Festival with works of Franz Liszt, among others.
Moreover, she can regularly be seen in solo tv performances for the Dutch network Evangelische Omroep.
Ruzanna is dedicated to her passion for the oratorio repertoire. She has come to be a widely appreciated oratorio soloist. Ruzanna gives song recitals with pianists such as Roderigo Robles de Medina, David Bollen, David Schlafke and Nadezda Filippova.
Armenian mezzosoprano Lilit Sati and Ruzanna make up the duo of GIOCONDA. Their repertoire consist of classical and Eastern-European music, Armenian songs and sacred music. Ruzanna is also a member of the baroque ensemble CON CALORE. Their diverse programmes emphasise German, French and Italian baroque music.
